On October 1 and October 2, the Latvian Ornithological Society (LOB), CEMEX and the Nature Conversation Agency invites everyone to the European bird-watching Days. 19 events will be held around Latvia and also at the Ķemeri National Park.

Number of the participants is limited so please register in advance. Free participation in the event. Participants are recommended to wear comfortable clothing that is appropriate to the weather conditions and take along binoculars, bird detectors and snacks.

If bird watching tour is planned individually, please inform LOB about observated birds (the bird species, the number of birds, the number of  birdwatchers, the place where the birds were observed) by phone 67221580, e-mail putni@lob.lv  or the on website Dabasdati.lv. In the evening, on October 2, the information about the birds species and number of the birds observed in two days will be given to “EuroBirdwatch 2011” coordinators – the Swiss Society for the Protection of Birds.

European Birdwatching day’s programme at the Ķemeri National Park:

October 1
 The two bird-watching tours “Ķemeru spalvas 2011”(by bus) to  the Lake Kaņieru, Meadows Dunduru  and  Fields Slampe .The first tour - from 9:00 till 12:00 (at 8:50 setting off from the Ķemeri Raiway Station Square , at  9:00 setting off from the "Forest home"), the second tour - from 13:00 till 16:00 (meeting near the "Forest home"). Tours will be guided by Jānis Ķuze. For registration call: 26332786.
• The family event – the workshops devoted to the birds and bird feeders construction. The event will be held in Ķemer,near the“Forest Home”from 11:00 till 15:00. For more information call: 26332786
• Goose watching night. Going to the goose overnight places, where the birds will be observed in small groups. The event starts at 17:30 and ends by dawn, and is followed by a picnic. For registration call: 26332786.

October 2

•    Bird-watching from CEMEX tower at the Lake Kaņieru. From 13:00 till 17:00 the ornitologist Jānis Ķuze will be there. The tower is located on peninsula Riekstu at the Lake Kaņieru. Please follow indications on the Lapmežciems-Antiņciems road wayside.
